Today I am Writing A blog post about the Setting sail, setting sail is about people that came to New Zealand on a waka. The first person to come on a waka to New Zealand was a man named Kupe. Kupe used the stars and the ocean to voyage to New Zealand. He originally came from Polynesian though and when he got here he went on land at Hokianga Harbour. Here is a leter that I wrote to a friend about how I felt well travelling to New Zealand then having to live there for the rest of my life. Here it is:
Dear Bella,
travelling to New Zealand was hardest thing I ever have done. I had to deal with ginormous waves and the sadness of leaving my friends and whanau. But travelling to New Zealand was wavey and made 2 men sea sick.
When we got there we found something really heavy and tied it to some wrope then tied it to the waka then dropped the stone into the water with the wrope to connected so the waka would float away. We called it the ancor, then when we stepped on to real land I wobbled instead of walked because being on a waka is all wobbly because it is wavey in the water.
Then I stepped onto the lushes grass and I felt freedom I could do what ever I wanted I was in New Zealand but I couldn't belive I was alive. I was finally in New Zealand and I was going to live there for the rest of my life....
Hi Lilli-Rose,
ReplyDeleteGreat blog post. And I am honored that I have gotten to be the person you are writing to. But for a letter don't you have to write sincerely or something like that. But besides that you did great. Please comment on my blog post!!
Bye,
Bella.
Kia Ora Lilli-Rose,
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome letter. You went into so much detail about how you'd feel if you were on the voyage to New Zealand. If you could bring three people along with you to NZ, who would they be?
Keep up the great work Lilli-Rose.
Thank you Georgia and Bella for the advise it's awesome you like it I put a lot of my time into it thank you!!!
