Why Self Directed Learning Is Better For Me

In Te Maunga we have been learning to write persuasive writing: we got a chose  that we could write about being self detected or having chrome books. I think the thing I have done well was having lots of reasons
for my paragraphs. I think the thing I could have done better was making sure that I have one idea in each
 paragraph.

I believe that self directed learning is better for my learning because it can make me focus by doing things that I have to do and learn better it is a, new way of learning.

Firstly I think it helps me know where I am and what I need to improve on. This means I have to try and push myself to do better in all subjects I have to set goals to get where i need to be then try and achieve them.  In the past it would take forever to get our  reports so we didn’t know where we were it was a waste of time to see where we were and what we needed to do until our reports.

Secondly It takes up our learning time sitting on the mat waiting when  the teacher talking. So if we take control of our learning we only have to be told to do our time table for the day and that’s it. Last year it would take about thirty minutes for the teacher to explain what we had to do then we wouldn’t have time to even do it.

Thirdly this is great a great responsibility for us you must keep on doing this because it is something we can use for when we are older. This is an Important life lesson that we need to be independent.

I also I think collaboration is great doing writing, reading or maths together is way easier because you could get inspiration, you could try use there strategies that they use. Collaborating is when you work together, it’s when you do it with each other to make it better.

Lastly if we are sick you can email the teacher to ask her what we are doing or do the things you normally do in your own timetable. Instead of lacking around at home now it’s like you are in the classroom.

To conclude I believe that this is a great way of learning that is an Important life lesson of learning, not a waste of time.
