Problem solving

WALT solve multiplication problems in everyday contexts

In Te Maunga we have been learning about solving every day contexts. What happens is that we get a problem we have to solve and then we figure them out alone. Once we finished we come into a group then we would discuss what strategies we used. I think this is a good strategy to use because at the end we repeat what each other said. I did well on repeating what each other said but I could have showed how I did my work less complicated. I think problem solving is a great idea because we get to learn each other’s strategies.

The Four Shot Movie

Title: The Four Shot Movie

Description:
In Te Maunga we have been learning to make a movie in four shots. We have been doing this because  we want to make a movie about relationships, but we need to learn about  angles and shots first. The shots we used are close up, medium close up, wide shot or extremely close up. My buddy was Ataahua, we were making a movie about a kid  going to a school cafeteria but  they forget to pay. Here is my movie and narrative.

The Money Mistake

One day a girl Called Lilli-Rose decided to have a lunch at the school cafeteria. There was a list of food she could have. There was a lunch box for $10, water for $2 and pizza $9. She decided to have a lunch box, so Lilli-Rose ate her food. In her lunch box. She had popcorn, a muesli bar, chips, fruit and carrots. So Lilli-Rose crunched the popcorn in her teeth and decided to save some for lunch. So she skipped out the door, but oh no she forgot to pay! The cafeteria lady said “wait you forgot to pay” but Lilli-Rose couldn’t hear her. She was too far away!  Oh No!!!

Rarotonga's Culture

Title: Rarotonga’s Culture

Kia orana (hi in Cook islands Maori) everyone,  a few days ago I was in Rarotonga and I want you to know about what I learnt. I want to tell you not about my time but about the culture of Rarotonga. So I hope you learn a lot about Rarotonga’s culture here is my example.

Their and Our culture together
Do you know that in the Cook Islands our tribes were named after the Islands.  Also  do you know that the Cook Islands asked for Britain's and our protection from the French. In the Cook islands they also have Maori basically the same as our Maori but a bit different here are some examples. We say kia ora, they say kia orana. We say waka, they say vaka. We say hoe, they say oe.
