Week 3 Day 5: Maintaining the Status Quo (The 1990’s)

Activity 1: Hiking Tongariro
In the 1990's a new walk had just come it was called the Tongariro crossing. Millions of people want to see it every year. It is a very old walk with nature and animals everywhere. Here are 5 items you should bring when you go there.

1. Good walking shoes
2. Rain coat
3. Jumper
4. Water
5. Warm clothes

Here is what you should d before you go.
You should get a map to know where your hiking, tell some one that your going and what time you will be at home. Also plan when you at going so that the weather is okay.

Activity 2: Leading New Zealand
In the 1990s, four different individuals served as the Prime Minister of New Zealand Geoffrey Palmer, Mike Moore, Jim Bolger and Jenny Shipley. They were all fantastic prime minister's but I chose Jenny Shipley to write about then make a poster about here it is:

Jenny Shipley was the 36th prime minister in New Zealand. She is now a politician. She was born on the forth of February 1952, and she is the first woman to be prime minister in the national party and the first woman prime minister.

Bonus Activity: You Have to Pay to Play
In 1990 education was all free and just fine and people back then were a lot richter because they didn't have to pay a it of money for education. But now we have to pay thousands of dollars for university. This is why people live on the street or cant pay the bills. But e have hope still the labour party said that in about three years time. Here is if I think we should pay or not.

I think it's not fair we have to pay this much money for collage. But If it started with paying money I would think it's a bit better. But people are not being able to pay the bills and have to be forced to live on the street or in a car.

  1. Ata Marie Lilli-Rose,
You have picked some great things to bring with you on the hike. You have been very prepared if you have any cold weather which is a great idea! You never know if the weather will change. I have hiked part of the crossing before and I remember we were all wearing shorts and t-shirts. After we finished climbing Devil’s Staircase we realised we were in fog and it was freezing! On went each warm piece of clothing we brought with us! If you had the chance would you hike the Tongariro Crossing?
Jenny Shipley has been the only female leader of the National Party! Jacinda Ardern is only the second woman to be the leader of the Labour Party. If you had the chance would you want to be the Prime Minister?
I think you have a good point, that people are spending money on their education rather than their living costs. Labour has started their tertiary plan already! This year students who start their degree will get there first year free and by 2021, Labour wants to be able to offer 3 years free!
    Keep the awesome blogs coming!
