WALT: Write a persuasive letter
In Te Maunga we have been writing a persuasive letter to Mrs Lindsay to try and persuade her to get a web site called Maths Hub. I think the thing I have done well was punctuation making sure that if it is a place or a name I have a capital. But maybe next time I could be more detailed in my examples.
Dear Mrs Lindsay,
I am trying to persuade you to buy Maths Hub, we should definitely get Maths Hub because it saves time, helps the school teachers and the children but also helps us learn it practice it and prove it even though it costs a lot of money.
Firstly it saves time by not being technical, so that means that it is easy to get onto, and doesn’t take away time from our learning. It also helps the teachers by just saying “go to Maths Hub.” In the past it would take the teacher days to perfect their ways of learning, but with this website has everything and doesn’t take any time to get onto.
Secondly it helps our whole school not just our class, so it means that the juniors can use the IPad and the seniors can use their chromebooks. It helps the teacher as well because they can focus on other work. But if you thought of all the money a different way, if every student was $3 dollars to get the website we would definitely have a great bargain.
It also helps us learn it, practice it and prove it, this means that we don’t have to have lots of tests all the time. First we learn it by watching a video, next we practice it by playing games then we can prove it by the ideas it gives us.
I hope you will buy Maths Hub to help our learning even though it’s a lot of money,
Thank you for reading my letter
Lilli-Rose
